Hi everyone,
This is from Mrs Prynne, not Ms. Selwood!
Thank you all for joining in with World Book Day in school last week. I hope you've had a chance to look at the different class pages at all the photos that have been uploaded.I have made a couple of lists of the books and authors you have told me you'd like to see in the library. We already have lots of these so I will try to put them on display where you can see them and hopefully borrow and enjoy reading them.
These are the ideas from the infants: Julia Donaldson (Stick Man / The Snail and the Whale) , Roald Dahl (Fantastic Mr Fox), Rose Impey and Ant Parker (Scout and Ace), Martin Handford (Where's Wally), Caroline Plaisted (Brownies stories), Alan Baker (Goodnight William), Lauren Child (Charlie and Lola), Steve Cole (Astrotaur), Francesca Simon (Horrid Henry), Jeremy Strong, Mick Inkpen, Michael Rosen (We're Going on a Bear Hunt), Sarah McConnell (Don't Mention Pirates) plus books about vehicles, sharks, horses, fairy tales, Goldilocks, Princess Poppy, Sir Charlie Stinky Socks and Howard (who has a shrinking machine!)
The ideas from the juniors were: Jacqueline Wilson (Cookie), Anthony Horowitz (Alex Rider stories and the Diamond Brothers stories), Louise Arnold (The Ghost School), Emma Thompson (Felicity Wishes), Michael Morpurgo (The Sleeping Sword), Jeremy Strong, Roald Dahl (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory / George's Marvellous Medicine), Quentin Blake, Robert Louis Stevenson and Enid Blyton.
If your suggestion is not here, please blog me and let me know what you'd like to see in the library and I will see what I can do. I will also ask your teachers to display some of these books in your classrooms if they have copies so they are easy for you to choose.
Finally, I'd love to read lots of blogs about your favourite authors, stories and books so keep reading and then start typing to let me know!
